Saturday, March 4th Robert Trippet and the Starlight Band will be here at the center, for a night of music and dancing. Robert will be here the first Saturday of each month. Concessions will be available from the kitchen.Danceis7pm—10PM. Doorswillopenat6pm. Monday, March 6th, we will begin a Spanish Class. Johnathan McCormick a student at Marshall University will teach the class to any seniors that wish to take part. Participating in this Learn To Speak Spanish class can help to keep your mind stimulated and focused. Thursday, March 9th, Gary Bellomy and the Line Dance Class will host a free Line Dance Evening. Everyone bring a Finger Food, Drink or Sweet Treat, and join the fun. Gary will be suppling the music and he and Midge will be dancing and teaching. Dance will be 7pm—10pm, and the doors will open at 6:30. Wednesday, March 15th, 11am. Kim Stephens from the Social Security Office will be at the center to give information. If you have any questions, this would be a good time to stop by and get answers.

 

We are having paint classes at the senior center now also, the classes are Acrylic paint. We paint every Thursday at 12 pm. Classes are free to seniors and are taught by Kathy Lucas, you will need a canvas to paint on, 11’’ by 13’’ or 16’’ by 20’’ are recommended. Paints and brushes will be provided for the first session of classes.

 

There will be a Dinner Dance on Thursday, March 23rd, at the Senior Center. Dinner will be served at 6pm, Dance will be 7Pm —10pm. Doors will open 5:30. Anyone that would like to come and volunteer to help decorate the center for the dance, would be appreciated.

 

We are still offering knitting classes the second and fourth Friday of March, line dance class every Friday from 12-2, computer class on Fridays and day trips each Tuesday.

 

We have been participating at the Underwood Center, to learn Tai Chi. As soon as we are able, we will bring Tia Chi Classes to the Barboursville Senior Center for the senior community of Barboursville. The Seniors are collecting bottle caps and can pull tabs for Guyandotte Elementary School Playground Equipment and for the Ronald McDonald House in Huntington. If you have any of these items, please bring them to the donation boxes at the Barboursville Senior Center.

Learn To Speak Spanish

The Senior Center will be offering a Spanish Class, beginning Weds. March First. Johnathan McCormick, from Marshall University will be the Instructor. Jonathan will be giving FREE Spanish Classes here at the Barboursville Senior Center. Please come and take part in the class. If you have ever wanted to learn a language, Now is your chance to do so, as well as keeping your brain stimulated and active.

Paint Class

Thursdays - 12 PM Beginning, Feb. 23rd.

Bring - Canvas Board, Canvas, or any other item that you want to paint on. Brushes and Paints will be provided for the first
